The publication of the Sterne International 2024 Sustainability Report is not merely an account, but a manifesto of profound commitment. This document, our first, reaffirms how sustainability is an intrinsic value for us, a journey that translates into durability, transparency, and an unbreakable bond with the Umbrian identity that has always distinguished the maison.
Inspired by our thirty-year history, the Report serves as a bridge between our precious artisanal heritage and our visionary future, embodying excellence in every detail. At the heart of our vision lies a "Business within the business," a "Sterne Ecosystem" that synergistically unites manufacturing stages for a more efficient and responsible industry, always placing people and the local territory at the center.
The project underscores the brand's focus on concrete and measurable investments. Our commitment to the environment is demonstrated by the adoption of 100% Green self-produced energy, the construction of a biological water treatment plant, and the plan for additional photovoltaic systems by 2026. Simultaneously, our social value is reflected in our people: 76% of our staff are women, with female representation in all top leadership functions, and our Knitwear School, active since 2013, continues to train local youth with a 100% placement rate, safeguarding precious know-how.
This commitment extends to the traceability and certification of the entire supply chain, with our first "no season" line distinguished by timeless garments made from certified materials (GOTS, RWS). Through this path, we aim to achieve 100% GOTS certification for all our products and processes, demonstrating a holistic vision that unites sustainability, quality, and craftsmanship.
